A couple of weeks ago I popped into the city to visit the Auckland Art & Craft Fair {the next one is 30/11/2013} held at the Aotea Centre. Entry was a gold coin donation and this event was well worth trying to squeeze my big truck into the teeny Civic parking spaces.
It was definitely a super-hipster craft fair, there were two stands that didn’t quite fit, one was the man who takes pics of the moon from his backyard and puts it on t-shirts etc and the other was a stall of very traditional hand knits, unfortunately for this lady this was just not the market for her.
I picked up a few cute things but my favourite purchase was this whimsy world in a jar from Pietje’s Cupboard. We love Schleich figurines in our house and now I have one just for me!
Tip: If you attend the next fair in November, take cash. There is an eftpos facility there but you receive ‘craft bucks’ which can’t be exchanged for cash if you don’t spend them all.
