and perhaps I could be called a wordsmith when I have had too much to drink, but I think I have a similar problem. I am a photosmith (thanks, I made that up). My posts have too many pictures. I take too many pictures and have too many pictures saved on my 2 external hard drives – I have compiled 102 gigs of photos in 5 years.
I love my picture memories though. I may not print them out and stuff millions of photo albums full of them, but I do look at my old blog posts and flip through my zillions of folders on my computer and laugh at my silly, fat little boy baby ::::::sobs ’cause he’s turning 5, did I tell you already?:::::::
In fact my love for my digital images and penchant for organization is what led me to blogging in the first place. The obvious chronology of blog posting creates a record of life/images/musings that is easily indexed and relived, moment by moment, month by month, year by year. I loved the idea of creating a dynamic record of our life for Ethan to look back on when he is older. And laugh at. And wonder exactly HOW much bourbon Mummy and Daddy drank during those formative years. Just joking……it’s only a little bit….
TIP: I may take gazillions of pictures BUT I am organized in my photo filing, on each hard drive I have a PICTURES folder, these are the only 2 places in my entire digital world where photos are allowed to be downloaded. Within each PICTURES folder are folders labelled 2004, 2005, 2006 etc and finally within each year folder I have 12 folders for the months of each year. This system seems common sense but I don’t know anyone else who does this. It makes life so much easier when you are searching for pics of your Gran at your brothers 21st birthday party (easy to find if you know the year and date of your bro’s bday right?).
So, in an effort to lighten the load of images I will post only one picture today and it’s not even that fabulous, but it made me laugh and Homer Simpsons everywhere will damn near melt with envy. Because I know you were going to ask, the answer is yes, I did buy these Meat-on-a-Stick treats and will post a review under the Gourmet Delights section of my website. Ha.
