Contrary to some who are freaking out over how close Christmas is. I cannot wait. To not have to work, for a week at least is going to be amazing. This week has been a good one, we celebrated Ethan’s eighth birthday and Thanksgiving, plus I made it to Friday afternoon and all I can think about is Burger Fuel!
This week I loved Wattie’s Spaghetti on Vogel’s toast,
I also loved Pheonix Sparkling Feijoa drink. It’s that pesky ‘O’ word in there that makes this so expensive isn’t it? Aren’t all feijoas organic or near to it? I mean surely every feijoa in the world is gown on someones backyard tree, I can’t say I’ve ever come across a feijoa orchard, have you?
We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner cooked by my sister-in-law with some help from her Assistant Dave. They rustled up a to die for turkey, ham, stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and gravy, plus pumpkin pie, apple pie and Jo’s trademark fruity dessert cups. Seriously good eating!
We had so much fun this year making sure E had ‘the BEST birthday ever’. He adored his long-awaited MGP scooter and all the other bits and bobs he received. I am actually waiting for he and Dave to get home from a fishing charter given to him by his Nana! Lucky boys.
Loving what has to be Dave’s Best Ever leftover meal. He made a bunch of chilli on sunday night, it went so far with the addition of beans and combined with rice that we had tonnes left over. He stuffed cannelloni tubes with the mix, whipped up a tomato based sauce, grated some cheese on top, baked and served with a dollop of sour cream. Amaze.
