Dad decided to take Thursday and Friday off this week, so who were we to decline?
We drove just a bit north and lazed the day away at Shakspear Bay (yes that is how you spell it!). It was so hot, not a cloud in the sky and as it was a work day there was barely anyone there. Lucky Jacks;

Just to keep tradition alive (2007 pics here), we headed down to Waiake Beach again for another picnic dinner, this year with the Rhodes Family. It was a beautiful evening, the kids and dogs had so much fun. When it got dark we pulled the wagon back up the hill to Nick and Debbie’s house to see in the New Year. The kids were supposed to be ‘camping’ in the poker room, but when 11.45pm rolled around and they were still up we conceded defeat and Ethan, Freya and Mckenzie were able to watch the Sky Tower fireworks display with us. It was such a nice way to finish a great year.
Ethan was a great help and pushed our loaded wagon all the way to Nick and Debbie’s
There were only two rules, stay home and don’t shop. Easy;

To pass the last couple of days before Dave came home, Ethan and I went to stay at Mum and Dads house, where all of the puppies and Ethan had so much fun despite a cough and cold!
Swimming lessons are going so well, Ethan is a natural swimmer and looks forward to his class each week. It is exciting for me watching his progress as he has come so far so quickly; check out the very short clip of his amazing dive!
Ethan and Dave went on a walk yesterday simply to ‘find stuff’. They returned home with a tupperware of interesting things to look at and touch;
