Acquisitions | Emma & Roe Jewellery

There are two things I’ve always loved when it comes to both fashion and jewellery; textural, boho elements and layering/stacking.  Emma & Roe has done an amazing job of combining these two elements in their collections with the additions of gorgeous leather wrap bracelets and totally covetable range of mix and match stacking rings.  I already have a “mummy” charm bracelet so when I was invited to shop the range* I was looking for something a little different, something that would actually add to my mummy uniform style rather then just simply complement it.

Leather looks so good on its own or combined with other metals so I instantly fell in love with these simple wrap bracelets.  The clasp is genius by the way.  The closure is magnetic stainless steel that is super firm but also totally doable one handed.  These are now on high rotation as they are perfect, everyday pieces to add colour to an outfit without worrying about over-the-top styling.  The Wild Hearts collection includes larger charms that fit onto the wider leather bands, giving you the freedom to customize your look day to day.
Emma and Roe Mummy Blogger New ZealandI’m having a tough time with my skin reacting to my white gold wedding jewellery at the moment so I couldn’t resist a little sterling silver stack to put some pretty back on my fingers.  Black is a wardrobe staple season after season but it proves a bit more difficult to source when looking for quality jewellery to pair with your LBD – or your puffer jacket, either way.  These three delicate bands combine for max impact, creating a statement piece that is both pretty and bold at the same time, I love it!

Very Important Things to note;

Both the bracelets and rings are perfect mix-and-match everyday pieces which I love, as I don’t tend to re-style my jewellery on a daily basis.  I can’t wait to add to my collection with some charms for the leather bracelets and some gold stack rings to make them even more versatile.

The Valentines Day Edit | Michael Hill Jewellers

Dave and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary last month {yay us!} which understandably resulted in a wee bit of time spent poring over glass display cases, searching for the perfect sparkly something to help celebrate such an awesome milestone in our lives.  Needless to say when Michael Hill Jewellers asked me to curate a selection of my favourite pieces for Valentines Day I already had a few in mind!

Jewellery trends are shifting quickly alongside the fashion seasons so it was refreshing to see a change of direction in the aesthetic of the new collections at Michael Hill.  On-trend geometric shapes, rose gold and stacker rings all make the edit this season and are wish-list must haves!

Acquisitions | Hello Little Deer Stamped Necklace

I have lusted after these necklaces for years and figured that Nixon’s first birthday was the perfect occasion to finally order one; a gorgeous hand stamped necklace celebrating the two pieces of my heart.

I ordered the shortest length (16″) initial necklace with two charms in 14k gold filled $60.  I LOVE this necklace, it would be a perfect gift for Mother’s Day, a birthday, Christmas or just a wee treat.

Acquisitions | Coastal Jewellery by Kingsway

I was totally one of those girls that avidly scanned the beach for the perfect shell ring, until I found the next one and then the reject was relegated to a pendent, strung on a leather thong around my neck……for years.

Luckily for me Kingsway Design have cast my fave shell rings in gorgeous stirling silver;  The Coastal Collection pretty much comprises my whole jewellery wish list right now.  My earrings are beautiful, I love them.

RRP $50

Vintage finds | Watchmakers Chest

Mum, Ethan and I braved the blustery weather yesterday and headed across the bridge to Junk & Disorderly – hands down the BEST second-hand shop I have ever seen.  I definitely took my time, but I still feel that I would need to spend another hour in there perusing the many aisles and brushing off the dusty relics to be sure I wasn’t missing that ONE amazing piece!

I was looking for a jewellery box as I outgrew my current one many years ago, and I didn’t leave empty handed {surprise surprise}.

Mum found two beautiful old watchmakers chests, lined with deep red velvet and absolutely perfect to re-purpose as a jewellery box.  Each drawer is partitioned, meaning I can finally organise my earrings, rings etc with some sort of separation and PLENTY of room.  Love.
